AB Adventures' 2021 Walt Disney World Recap

Hello, friends!

Well, we have made it to the Disney parks and back again, our feet sore and our hearts very full as usual. The parks, while different, still have their own special kind of magic. We wanted to share some of the highlights with you, because quite honestly…This may have been our favorite trip yet. So, check it out to see why we loved this trip so much.

Many people have taken a look at what Disney is offering at the parks right now and said it is not worth it to them. Without the fireworks, the full parades, the extra perks provided by staying on-site, fastpasses, and the list goes on, many people just are opting to wait. I completely understand that! There is no doubt that very specific and special pieces are missing from this Disney experience.

However, we found some really amazing aspects that we are kind of hoping stick around.

For one, those cavalcades! If you are not aware of what cavalcades are—they are miniature forms of parades that occur quite frequently throughout the parks. I believe we saw four…maybe five…at Magic Kingdom. Yep, they have that many! It was such a pleasure to see these fun, little touches to the day. Since they were spontaneous, there were hardly any crowds waiting for the event to happen. Praise!!

Next up, the lower crowds. Friends, we got to sprawl out on the hub grass, drink coffee, and watch the sun set over Cinderella’s Castle without people crowding us and holding spots for the fireworks. It was AMAZING and a Disney memory that I will cherish forever.

Moreover, without fastpass, the lines are constantly moving. On occasion they will stop for various reasons. Still, more often than not, you will be continuously getting closer to the boarding area as you wait…which of course makes it SO MUCH easier to wait. That standing is what kills the waiting for us. I’m getting a tiny bit stressed just thinking about it!

BONUS: Disney provides relaxation stations where you can take off your mask for a bit and relax in a secluded area. I talked to a cast member about this and he said that they have about three locations in every park. Time for a little happy dance.

Overall, this truly may have been our favorite visit to the parks yet. Disney makes it so simple to visit their parks during this time. Sure, there are things missing that we cannot wait for them to return. In the meantime though, there is an abundance of different, quieter magic in the parks that we have come to appreciate.
