Our Top 5 (x2) Attractions & Restaurants We Are Looking forward to in 2021

Walt Disney World has undergone quite a few changes over the last, few years. Anthony and I have not gotten to experience them all (with how much there is, I don’t know that we even truly will!). However, we have a good list of places we are visiting on our next trip in February. Since we have never experienced these, we are especially excited about them!

In addition to the top 5 list of things we are excited to see on our trip, we included another top 5 list on attractions and restaurants that are coming to Walt Disney World later in the year that we cannot wait for! It’s going to be a good year!

To start off, we are covering the Top 5 things we are looking forward to during our AB Adventures February trip. So, here we go:

5. Riviera Reosrt

I have been watching the development of this ersort since the beginning and have fallen more in love with it since then. The theming, the connection to the Skyliner, the open spaces, all of it. The time cannot come fast enough to just have the opportunity to walk around this resort inspired by the French and Italian Rivieras.

4. Skipper Canteen

This Magic Kingdom restaurant is a favorite among many and we have yet to experience it. I know. It is time. the restaurant is located in Adventureland, not far from the Jungle Cruise attraction with which it correlates. This restuarant expounds on the lore of the Jungle Cruise while also giving guests some really spectacular food. Can you see why we are so excited?

3. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This attraction opened not long after our last visit. I sadly did not get to say goodbye to The Great Movie Ride, but it’s okay because this ride has gotten more exciting in my mind. With how many people talking about the mind-blowing effects and creativity in this ride (let alone that this is the only Mickey Mouse ride in Walt Disney World), we just can’t miss this one.

2. Savi’s Workshop

Ah, the famed lightsaber-building experience. My mom and I got Anthony this experience for Christmas and we are finally getting to do it! Just about anything Star Wars is exciting to us, but this is a whole other level. The fact that Galaxy’s Edge itself is so immersive, we know that this experience of building an as-close-to-authentic-as-possible lightsaber makes us even more thrilled. It can’t come more quickly for us!

1 . Rise of the Resistance

If you have not heard of this ride by now, you really need to. Galaxy’s Edge got a bad rep by many when it first opened partially because this headliner had not opened with the land yet to complete the experience. It is here now though and what an attraction! We won’t spoil it for you since we know that many of you have not had the chance to ride it yet. However, we will say that we have yet to see an attraction so fully put you into the story. This one exceeds expectations. Disney has done it again.

We aren’t sure which list this next exciting attraction goes to since we don’t know when it will open. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is set to open in 2021 and we are thinking it is pretty soon. Imagineers are already putting the finishing touches on the new attraction. This one is essentially a carbon copy of the one in Disneyland Paris, and we are overjoyed to experience it here in Walt Disney World. We are hopeful; so we will just have to see what happens!

Now, we move onto our list of anticipated attractions and restaurants that most likely will not open before our February trip. Still, they deserve a mention because they are going to be epic!

5. Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ

While we love the dining options in Hollywood Studios, we would love to see more themed dining locations that are around some IP. Not that we are always thrilled about more IP, but most of the Hollywood Studios dining is centered on a location—The Brown Derby, Hollywood and Vine, Mama Melrose’s. Yes, there are a few exceptionals, but we are anticipating this restaurant for the themeing of it that will add a little extra to the park!

4. Space 220

We were just talking about themeing… This is definitely a unique one! Located in Epcot, this restuarant lifts you in an elevator 220 miles above the Earth for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. (Or at least, that’s the illusion.) Disney has such a creative idea with this and we are looking forward to the day when we can experience it as well!

3. Harmonious

Illuminations definitely did not leave the nightshow lineup without many tears from its fans. However, Disney has promised something even bigger and better. We’ve gotten a few glimpses of this new fireworks show in Epcot by way of the massive barges in the lagoon. Even with the enormity of those barges, we have hope that when it is finished, the final product will be well worth it. We are trusting Disney’s vision that they will come through on the spectacular show!

2. Princess and the Frog Retheme of Splash Mountain

Last summer, Disney announced they had previously been working on a project to retheme Splash Mountain to Princess and the Frog. As always, we will miss the old, but we are very eager to see the new tale to be told within this attraction. Can you just imagine the Bayou music and the twinkling firefly lights? We never want to overuse the “magical” word, but we think this new design will be just that.

1. Guardians of the Falaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Epcot is really getting an overhaul over the next couple of years. One of the most exciting to us is this new Guardians-themed rollercoaster. It is intended to have a reverse launch, spinning vehicles, and thrilling visuals. Overall, this really comes to the top of our list. Its opening date cannot come soon enough for us!

That’s it for us today, friends! If you enjoyed this list, be sure to share it with a friend that you think we enjoy it as well.
